The loan maturity profile of BDCs, the most transparent part of the direct lending universe, is not pointing to any big deterioration in the near-term. Looking at the maturity wall as of the most recent 2Q25 filing date, near-term portfolio maturities are limited, with only 6% of loans coming due by the end of 2026 and 16% by the end of 2027. The vast majority of loans held by BDCs (75%) have a maturity date in the 2028-2031 range, with 39% falling in the 2028-2029 timeframe.
