Retail loan funds last week posted their first outflow in 6 weeks, with US$91m exiting. Despite this, investors were attracted to loan funds in July, with inflows for the month amounting to a robust US$2.7bn. In comparison, high yield bond inflows continued in the most recent week, totaling US$438m, taking the July inflows to a hefty US$5.1bn. On a year-to-date basis, loan fund have pulled in US$14.1bn compared to US$10.9bn for high yield bond funds.
