In the same week that the Fed raised rates 50bp, the largest increase in 22 years in a move that was widely expected, retail loan funds posted a US$557m inflow, its 7th consecutive week of positive flows but the 3rd week of sub US$1bn inflows. 17 out of 18 weeks in 2022 saw positive loan fund flow totaling US$25.2bn, the highest amount recorded over this time period.

Despite some stabilization in the markets in April, volatility continues to describe conditions best. After dropping just 14bp in April, the LPC 100 has declined 1.25pts in the first 9 days of May, of which 89bp occurred between May 5 and May 9.
