Private Debt Intelligence – 10/25/2021
Q3 aggregate capital raised increases across regions
North America-focused private debt funds raised $26.8bn over Q3 2021, an almost 227% increase on the $8.2bn aggregate capital raised in Q3 a year earlier. The closing of the$11.7bn HPS Speciality Loan Fund V played a large role here, as well as the closing of two further $1bn+ US-focused funds. Comparatively, Europe saw $11.6bn of aggregate capital raised, compared to nothing raised in Q3 2020. In contrast to North America and Europe, Asia saw fewer funds close in Q3 this year than in the two years previous, but raised more capital, at $2.1bn this year compared to $1.5bn in 2019 and $220m in 2020.
