The Bloomberg US Leveraged Loan Index (Ticker: LOAN), a measure of the US institutional, broadly syndicated, leveraged loan market, continued its downward trend in April. It posted a negative return of -0.17% for the month, following a -0.29% decline in March, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) return to 0.42%.
The Loan Index represented the worst performing Bloomberg US fixed income index in April, with the US Corporate HY Index returning -0.02%, US Treasuries posting 0.63%, US Aggregate returning 0.39% and US Floating Rate Notes at 0.13%.
