Mr. Schwimmer is Vice-Chairman, Churchill Asset Management, LLC, overseeing the Investor Solutions Group and focusing on managing and growing the firm’s relationships with leading global institutional investors, family offices and private wealth platforms. Previously, he served as Co-Head of Senior Lending, responsible for senior lending origination and capital markets for Churchill, an investment specialist of Nuveen. He is a co-founder of Churchill, and on the firm’s Executive Committee and Senior Investment Committee.
Mr. Schwimmer is also founder/publisher of The Lead Left, Churchill’s weekly newsletter reviewing deals and trends in the capital markets. This well‑regarded and widely distributed publication has a unique focus on the mid‑market space and is read by many influential industry participants. He also produces Private Capital Call, a monthly podcast featuring thought-provoking conversations with top-decision makers in private capital, asset management & institutional investing.
Mr. Schwimmer has broad experience in middle market finance and is widely credited with developing loan syndications for middle market companies. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a senior managing director and head of capital markets and indirect origination at Churchill Financial. In those positions, he took responsibility for all loan capital markets activities and for managing the firm’s indirect origination platform. Before that, he worked as managing director and head of leveraged finance syndication for BNP Paribas. He spent 15 years at JP Morgan Chase in corporate banking and loan syndications, where he originated, structured, and syndicated leveraged loans.
As an award-winning and influential thought leader in private capital, Mr. Schwimmer is frequently quoted in industry publications, a frequent speaker at leading conferences and a regular guest on Bloomberg Radio.
Mr. Schwimmer is a graduate of Trinity College (BA) cum laude, and received his MA from the University of Chicago, where he is a member of the Humanities Advisory Council.
In addition, Mr. Schwimmer serves on the LSTA Private Credit Senior Advisory Committee. He is also Treasurer, and on the Vestry of Christ Church Greenwich, where we served as Senior Warden. Finally, he is a member of the Prisoner Visitation and Support (PVS) volunteer program for people incarcerated in US federal and military prisons.
